Allopurinol Tablets are a medication used to prevent gout attacks and manage high uric acid levels in the blood, a condition known as hyperuricaemia. Gout occurs when excess uric acid forms crystals in the joints, causing sudden episodes of intense pain, swelling, and redness. Allopurinol works by reducing the production of uric acid in the body, helping to prevent crystal formation and future flare-ups.

It is taken daily as a long-term treatment and is not intended for relieving pain during an active gout attack. Consistent use can also help prevent kidney stones caused by high uric acid levels.
